The NRLW grand final is set to be a showcase of the incredible journey that women's rugby league has taken in just six seasons.
When the NRLW began in 2018, it started off small, with only four teams granted licenses.
The competition lasted just four weeks and was played as double headers with the men's games during the finals series.
However, over the years, the NRLW has grown in size and popularity.
This season, it expanded to include 10 teams and lasted for nine rounds, with two weeks of finals.
The increased visibility of the NRLW has been evident this year.
In the semi-final between the Newcastle Knights and the Brisbane Broncos, a record crowd of 12,689 fans attended the match.
This highlights the value of giving women's rugby league the space and recognition it deserves.
The Knights, who won the premiership in 2022, will now compete in the grand final for the second year in a row.
On the other side, the Gold Coast Titans made history by becoming the first Titans team, men's or women's, to qualify for a grand final.
Under the guidance of head coach Karyn Murphy, the Titans have had a remarkable turnaround in form after finishing last in 2022.
It's interesting to note that the Knights also experienced a similar transformation, going from wooden spooners in 2021 to premiership winners in 2022.
Now, as the Knights and the Titans prepare to face off in the grand final, they have the opportunity to showcase how far women's rugby league has come in such a short period of time.
