NRL's Alexandria fan hub takes shape

Peter V’landys’ bold new NRL project takes shape after Asia trip

An indoor NRL fan venue planned for Alexandria would use artificial intelligence to support interactive experiences, watch parties and other activities.

The project, described as "NRL World", is an ambitious theme park concept being developed by NRL executive chairman Peter V'landys.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that V'landys travelled to China and Hong Kong to source components for the proposed venue.

Those locations have also been linked to the NRL's proposed Global Round, which would take fixtures to international destinations.

Tokyo, London and the Middle East have been suggested as possible launch locations, potentially from 2028.

However, the reported China trip was for supplies for the Sydney fan hub, rather than negotiations about staging future matches beyond Australia and New Zealand.
