NRL Names Top Referees for Finals

The anticipation for this weekend's NRL finals is heightened with the announcement of the officiating crew for pivotal matches. Adam Gee has emerged as the fourth top referee, alongside veterans Ashley Klein, Grant Atkins, and Gerard Sutton.

Klein, Sutton, and Atkins have been key figures throughout the season and are expected to officiate crucial playoff games. Klein has notably refereed all three matches during the State of Origin series.

Though Gee faced some challenges over the year, he has secured his place for the 2023 NRL Grand Final, outpacing competitors including Todd Smith and Liam Kennedy.

In an exciting weekend lineup, Gee will officiate the game between the Warriors and Dolphins, while Klein opens the action with the elimination match between the Rabbitohs and Knights.

Atkins will preside over the elimination clash involving the Sharks and Cowboys, and Sutton will manage the Qualifying Final where the Panthers host the Roosters on Sunday.

Chris Butler is positioned to oversee the Grand Final from the bunker, having previously worked the State of Origin. He will handle the screens for the first two matches this weekend, while Klein and Wyatt Raymond take charge of the remaining fixtures.
