Sharks second-rower Briton Nikora has been handed a three-match suspension, effectively ending his regular season, due to a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle during Saturday's match against the Dragons.
Nikora received a sin-bin penalty and was subsequently cited for a tackle on Corey Allan in the 77th minute at Jubilee Stadium. Since this incident marked his third charge of this nature, he faced the possibility of a four-game ban if his appeal to the judiciary was unsuccessful.
The 27-year-old will miss upcoming matches against the Titans (Round 24), Knights (Round 26), and Bulldogs (Round 27), while the Sharks have a bye in Round 25.
However, he will be eligible to return for Week 1 of the finals, assuming the Sharks qualify.
