Nicholson, a former Warrington Wolves forward, has made a successful transition from the Super League to the NRL with the Canberra Raiders.

Despite scoring a double in his first game against Brisbane, the 21-year-old admitted that he was only now starting to feel at home in his new environment.

His decision to move to Australia was influenced by the presence of fellow English player Morgan Smithies in the squad and speaking to other English players who had previously played for the Raiders.

"I was welcomed with open arms as soon as I arrived at the club," said Nicholson, highlighting the supportive and inclusive culture within the team.

Adjusting to a new country and league can be challenging, but Nicholson has embraced the opportunity and is relishing the chance to prove himself on a different stage.

"There were obviously going to be a few nerves playing in a new competition but I was excited for the challenge," he stated.

Despite the initial nerves, Nicholson's on-field performance has been impressive, demonstrating his talent and potential in the NRL.

His strong work ethic and determination have not gone unnoticed by his teammates and coaching staff, further solidifying his place in the Raiders' squad.

Nicholson's journey serves as inspiration for other young players looking to make a mark in the NRL, showing that with hard work and dedication, success is achievable.

"I have always dreamed of playing in the NRL and to have this opportunity with the Raiders is a dream come true," he expressed.

His story is a testament to the opportunities that exist for talented players willing to take risks and step out of their comfort zones.

As he continues to settle into his new home and establish himself in the NRL, Nicholson's future looks bright and promising.

With his skills and determination, he is set to make a lasting impression on the league and achieve great success with the Canberra Raiders.
