A penalty awarded after Lindsay Collins was ruled to have made high contact with Mat Croker shifted momentum in the 2026 NRL Grand Final.
The Newcastle Knights converted the opportunity, with Francis Manuleleua scoring the match's opening try against the Sydney Roosters just over 15 minutes into play.
It was Manuleleua's 15th NRL appearance, after making his debut earlier this year, and came just over a month after he returned from a dislocated elbow.
Five-eighth Fletcher Sharpe supplied a short pass, and Manuleleua broke through the defence on the left.
The Roosters had controlled the early stages, while the Knights had turned away several attacking raids before the penalty gave them a chance to strike.
