News Corp reported on Friday that Peter O'Sullivan had agreed to a five-year deal to become Brisbane's next Head of Recruitment.
The Broncos won the 2025 Grand Final but are seeking change after missing the finals with almost the same roster as their premiership-winning side.
O'Sullivan was also pursued by the Eels, but chose Brisbane after helping the Dolphins build their roster for their first two seasons and beyond.
He joined the Knights on a contract through the end of 2029, reportedly worth $350,000 per season, to lead a roster overhaul with flexibility from 2026.
His departure comes immediately, one week after Newcastle reached its first Grand Final in 25 years.
The club confirmed his exit in a statement: "The nib Newcastle Knights have been advised by Head of Recruitment Peter O'Sullivan that he will be departing the Club. The Club thanks Peter for his services."
With two and a half decades of experience, O'Sullivan helped the Warriors, Knights, Dolphins and Roosters recruit more than 40 players who appeared this season.
Among his Newcastle signings was Dylan Brown, on a 10-year, $14 million deal.
