New Zealand open their World Cup campaign against Australia in Sydney on Thursday, with Naufahu Whyte expecting to face Roosters teammates James Tedesco and Sam Walker.
Asked who he would target, Whyte grinned: "Anyone in an Aussie jersey."
The 24-year-old arrives after winning his first premiership with the Roosters, earning the club's Jack Gibson Medal and sharing the Dally M prop of the year award.
Whyte called the premiership "one of the greatest things I have accomplished in my life" and described the club award as an unexpected bonus.
Recently retired Kiwis prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, a three-time Roosters title winner, helped guide Whyte after he moved from New Zealand.
"He has had a huge influence on the player I am today," Whyte said of Waerea-Hargreaves, who pushed him hard at training.
Whyte said forwards looked up to Waerea-Hargreaves and added, "Every time we go out there we do the best to make him proud."
In New Zealand camp, Whyte said current props James Fisher-Harris and Moses Leota had also been role models.
He said representing New Zealand meant carrying his family with him: "That is all I am carrying with me ... my parents, my siblings and my home on my back."
After New Zealand's Pacific Championships triumph last year, Whyte said the team knew its potential and could dominate if it found momentum.
