Tanner Stowers-Smith and Jacob Laban are poised to make their Kiwis debuts after being named on the interchange for Sunday's Pool A match against the Cook Islands.
The Warriors youngsters, who had breakthrough NRL seasons, missed Stacey Jones' side for its opening Rugby League World Cup match.
Forward Scott Sorensen said he was impressed by their confidence in camp.
"Yeah, it's very exciting, mate, and to see them getting around camp and just the confidence they have at such a young age," Sorensen said.
The Kiwis are seeking a response to their narrow opening defeat to co-hosts Australia last Thursday, despite a promising start.
Sorensen said they must "earn the right" against the Cook Islands and focus on dominating possession, gaining field position and executing their chances.
The Christchurch match comes more than a week after either team last played. One New Zealand Stadium will also host the Kiwi Ferns during a sporting weekend featuring the Silver Ferns, Blackcaps and NPC final.
