Mitchell Breaks Silence, Affirms Rabbitohs Loyalty

A South Sydney NRL player dives across the line to score a try as Dragons players fail to stop him.

Latrell Mitchell, the star player for South Sydney, recently broke his media silence, reaffirming his commitment to the Rabbitohs during his first press conference in nearly two years.

Known as one of the league's most compelling stars and a prominent Indigenous representative, Mitchell has opted to avoid the spotlight over the last two seasons.

During a media session intended for his teammates Cameron Murray and Keaon Koloamatangi, Mitchell surprised journalists by making an unexpected appearance.

The 28-year-old had not shared his thoughts publicly since a controversial incident in the 2024 season, which involved a troubling photograph taken in Dubbo.

Additionally, that same season, he stirred up discussions with an explicit post-match interview on Triple M radio.

As a consequence, Mitchell faced fines from both his club and the NRL, along with a one-match suspension, yet he chose not to delve into that controversy during the press conference.

"We'll leave that one," Mitchell stated, steering clear of the topic.

This season, however, Mitchell has let his performance speak for itself.

With the Rabbitohs holding a 5-3 record and sitting in fourth place ahead of an upcoming match against Cronulla, he has returned to peak form, netting 11 tries in just eight games.
