The South Sydney Rabbitohs are focused on their finals ambitions for 2026, which has resulted in the release of several players.
One of those players is towering forward Shaquai Mitchell, who is determined to make a mark after his departure from the club, marking the end of his time playing with his younger brother, Latrell Mitchell.
Mitchell was among eight players let go by the Rabbitohs in September following a season plagued by injuries. He has since signed with the Tweed Seagulls in the Queensland Cup, a feeder team for the Gold Coast Titans, as he aims to revive his NRL career.
"I'll definitely have a chip on my shoulder," Shaq told The Courier Mail.
"I want to show people I can contribute to an NRL program, 100 per cent.
"I believe I've got a few good years left in me in the top grade, if any club wants me."
Although he did not play in first grade during 2025, the front-rower remains optimistic about his NRL aspirations.
