The Brisbane Broncos have re-signed Australian and Queensland representative forward Shannon Mato on a two-year contract that extends through to the end of the 2027 season. This marks a significant "full circle" moment for Mato, who was previously part of the Broncos' 2020 premiership-winning team.

After playing 27 matches with the Gold Coast Titans, where she earned Player of the Year honors in 2022 and 2023, Mato brings invaluable experience back to the Broncos. The 27-year-old has represented Australia 10 times and Queensland eight times in State of Origin competitions.

Among her accolades are the 2024 Nellie Doherty Medal for Women's Origin Player of the Series and the Dally M Prop of the Year awards in both 2023 and 2024. After taking a break in the 2025 season to welcome her son, Mato expressed her excitement about returning to the Broncos, stating that the club feels like home.
