The Manly Leagues team is hitting new heights in the Sydney Shield competition, with a group of young players making their mark in the rugby league world.

This fourth tier men's competition, which acts as a stepping stone to the Ron Massey Cup, has seen the Sea Eagles soar to sixth place in their inaugural season.

After a weekend off in the Sydney Shield, Benjamin Keene-O'Keefe, Campbell Munn, Taulauniuotagaloa Mariota, and Jett Jackson were called up to the Manly Jersey Flegg team to fill in for some players who had moved up to the NSW Cup side.

Despite the step up in competition, these young guns impressed in a dominant 34-6 victory over the South Sydney Rabbitohs, with Mariota and Jett Jackson both dotting down for tries.

Having previously played in the SG Ball Cup for Manly, this was a significant leap for Keene-O'Keefe, Munn, and Jett Jackson.

Coach Anthony Watmough was thrilled to see them excel in the Jersey Flegg, showing their potential to compete at a higher level.

Overall, the Sydney Shield team's performance is a testament to the talent coming through the ranks at Manly Leagues, with these young players proving that they have what it takes to make their mark in the rugby league world.
