The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) has encouraged NRL fans attending Magic Round to vote early in the federal election.
Thousands of fans are set to gather at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium for this annual festival, where all fixtures take place in one location.
Notably, Saturday's triple-header coincides with election day.
To ensure fans can enjoy the event without distraction, both the AEC and NRL recommend that attendees "vote before you go" at early polling booths.
An AEC post on the NRL website highlights this initiative: "To enable fans to focus on the footy, the Australian Electoral Commission is encouraging Queensland and interstate fans to vote before they travel to the event."
Acknowledging the excitement surrounding the occasion, AEC national spokesperson Evan Ekin-Smyth remarked that for many fans, the federal election may not be their primary concern that weekend: "With all the excitement of a major event, we know that voting may not be top of mind when NRL fans arrive in Brisbane."
