Wests Tigers fans gave Luke Brooks a warm welcome he won't soon forget as he returned to Leichhardt Oval in a Sea Eagles jersey.

The Tigers' upset 34-26 victory added more salt to the wound for the former Tigers player, who became the target of boos and jeers both at the ground and on social media.

The 29-year-old Brooks, who spent a lengthy 11 years at Leichhardt, made his NRL debut with the Tigers back in 2013 and played a whopping 205 matches for the club.

Despite his loyalty, the Tigers never managed to make it to the finals during his tenure, a fact that did not escape the notice of the passionate Tigers supporters.

After much speculation and rumors about a potential move, Brooks finally made the switch to Manly last year, signing a four-year deal with the Sea Eagles.

His return to Leichhardt Oval was highly anticipated, with many expecting a lively reception from the die-hard Tigers fans.

In the end, Brooks faced a hostile crowd that made their displeasure known, adding another chapter to the history between the player and his former club.

The intense atmosphere of the match only served to highlight the passion and rivalry that defines Rugby League in Australia.
