The Newcastle Knights have successfully secured two promising young players from their pathways system.

According to zerotackle.com and The Newcastle Herald, halfback Chase Butler has signed a new two-year contract until 2027, while back-rower Curtis Mulheirin has committed to a four-year deal extending through 2029.

Both players have demonstrated their talent in the Harold Matthews Cup, helping lead their team to the 2025 Grand Final against the New Zealand Warriors.

Under the guidance of coach Steve Simpson, Butler and Mulheirin were also recognized for their skills by being named to represent Country in last year's U16s City vs Country clash, alongside fellow athletes Cyrus Bloomfield, Luke Metcalf, Darcy Feltham, and Ashton Large.
