The Newcastle Knights have bolstered their squad by signing two promising young guns in their quest to turn their ship around and make a splash in the NRL Finals next season.
Fresh off being named the Player of the Tournament at the ASSRL National Championships, Cody Hopwood has inked a lengthy four-year deal with the Knights that will keep him with the club until the end of the 2028 NRL season.
After a whirlwind year that included his NSW Cup debut, representation in the U19s NSW Blues squad, and a second call-up to the Australian Schoolboys team, Hopwood has shown immense potential on the field.
"Cody is a real diamond in the rough, and he's only going to get better with time," said Knights' Director of Football Peter Parr.
"He's got all the makings of a top NRL player, both in terms of his skill on the field and his attitude off it."
It seems like the Knights are setting sail towards a brighter future with these young stars on board.
With Hopwood and his fellow newcomer, the Knights are looking to build a team that can shake up the competition and make their mark in Rugby League history.
