Jacob Saifiti, a forward for the Newcastle Knights, has received news regarding his disciplinary action following his sending off for a high tackle on Warriors newcomer Luke Laulilli on Sunday.
Saifiti received a red card right after the incident, leaving the Knights to play with only 12 players for most of the match, while Laulilli was sidelined with a category 2 HIA.
Despite their efforts, Newcastle couldn't manage to secure a win, ultimately losing 46-32 in a game filled with points.
Saifiti now faces a Grade 2 Reckless High Tackle charge, which carries a four-game suspension if he opts for an early guilty plea.
If he contests the charge and is found guilty, the suspension will extend to five matches.
This means Saifiti's 2026 season has concluded, with Newcastle wrapping up the regular season before entering finals with a bye.
In another development, Cronulla Sharks' Tom Hazelton has also been suspended after performing a hip-drop tackle on Parramatta's Ronald Volkman.
Hazelton was sent to the sin bin for ten minutes late in the game and is now facing a Grade 2 Dangerous Contact charge.
He will receive a one-game suspension with an early guilty plea, which may rise to two matches if he contests the charge and is found guilty.
