The Newcastle Knights have faced a significant setback with forward Peter Hola undergoing surgery recently, impacting the team's roster depth.

Hola sustained a fractured arm while playing in the NSW Cup back in early June, leading to the necessity for surgical intervention, as reported by the Newcastle Herald.

The extent of his absence remains undisclosed by the club, leaving fans in suspense regarding his recovery timeline.

Despite his injury, the Knights' reserve grade managed to secure a 34-28 victory against Melbourne, although the injury to Hola occurred midway through the second half when he exited a tackle, visibly in pain.

After making his debut in Round 7 this season against the Sydney Roosters, Hola has made a notable impact with 10 appearances in the NSW Cup, showcasing his talent on the field.

Initially debuting in the NRL in 2019 with the North Queensland Cowboys, Hola's career has included stints with the Raiders and the Dolphins, leading to his recent addition to the Knights.

Hola is not alone in the injury ward; teammate Pasami Saulo is also sidelined after undergoing surgery for a broken foot, expected to be out for eight weeks, as confirmed by the club.

Saulo's injury history includes a severe ankle fracture-dislocation in 2021 and a complex finger tendon issue, drastically limiting his playtime over the years.

As the Knights prepare to face the St George Illawarra Dragons this Friday, their focus remains on maintaining strong performance in the 2026 season.
