In a dominant display of Rugby League, the New Zealand Kiwis secured a commanding 50-0 victory over Samoa in their Pacific Championships clash at Eden Park.

Making his first appearance for the Kiwis since 2019, Jamayne Isaako scored a double, adding to his impressive tally of 24 tries during the Telstra Premiership season, earning him the coveted Ken Irvine Medallist title.

Isaako's 25th and 26th tries of the year gave the Kiwis an early lead that they never relinquished, as they romped to their first shut-out win on home soil in over two decades.

New Zealand showcased their power in the middle and skill in the outside backs, leaving Samoa struggling to generate sustained attacking pressure.

Captain James Fisher-Harris, Moses Leota, and Joseph Tapine were standout performers for the Kiwis, while Nelson Asofa-Solomona made an impact off the bench, scoring a try.

The Kiwis now look ahead to a highly anticipated clash against Australia in Melbourne, where they will face formidable opponents such as Tino Fa'asuamaleaui and Payne Haas.

Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, chosen ahead of Golden Boot winner Joseph Manu, proved his worth at fullback for the Kiwis.

His clever cut-out pass set up Isaako for the first try of the game, and later, a brilliant run from Matt Timoko led to Isaako streaking down the sideline for another try.

Tapine then sealed the deal by sending Jahrome Hughes over the try line, extending the Kiwis' lead to 12-0.

Overall, New Zealand's dominant performance and Isaako's exceptional form highlighted their prowess in Rugby League, as they sent a strong message to their rivals and secured a resounding victory over Samoa.
