Kieran Foran, the coach of the Manly Sea Eagles, has provided an update on Tolutau Koula following a hip-drop incident involving Dominic Young during the club's recent win on Saturday.
During the first half, Young collided with Koula near the try line, causing Koula to awkwardly land on his ankle.
As a result of this incident, Young received a sin bin penalty and was subsequently handed a one-week suspension by the NRL's match review committee.
With Manly's season now concluded, concerns were raised regarding Koula's fitness for Tonga's World Cup campaign this year.
However, Foran has indicated some positive news about Koula's ankle injury and his potential availability for Tonga.
"Yeah, he's alright. He's in a moon boot," Foran stated.
"I think it was a high grade 2 syndesmosis, so looking like he'll be out for about a month, disappointing, but not much he can do about it.
"They're pretty comfortable and confident that they'll be able to rehab it without surgery, so that's a bonus for him.
"He's looking to get himself right for that campaign."
