Hull KR assistant coach and former New Zealand international Shaun Kenny-Dowall has thrown his support behind Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, describing him as a true 'alpha male' who will bring a strong presence and leadership to the team in the upcoming 2025 Betfred Super League season.
Known for his tough on-field performances in his 14-year tenure with Sydney Roosters, Waerea-Hargreaves has signed a one-year deal with the Robins, marking the end of his successful NRL career.
Kenny-Dowall, who has played alongside Waerea-Hargreaves for both New Zealand and the Roosters, is confident that the prop forward will not only make a significant impact on the pitch but also elevate the team's culture with his personality and innate leadership qualities.
"He's a born leader, a true alpha male," Kenny-Dowall shared on The Bench podcast.
"His presence is undeniable, and he has a knack for bringing people together both on and off the field.
He's a special player, and his addition to the squad will undoubtedly enhance the team dynamic."
As Hull KR gears up for the new season, the addition of Waerea-Hargreaves is expected to inject a fresh energy and skillset into the team, solidifying their position in the competitive Super League arena.
