Australia face New Zealand in Sydney next Thursday, then Fiji in Brisbane and the Cook Islands in Townsville over the following two weekends.

Kevin Walters' squad has replaced Sydney Roosters forward Lindsay Collins with Penrith forward Lindsay Smith after a foot injury ruled Collins out.

News Corp reported Collins had played the final weeks of the NRL season with the injury.

A regular for Queensland and Australia, Collins had been expected to make a significant contribution from the bench.

Smith, 26, has played two Tests for the Kangaroos, after a surprise call-up to the 2024 Pacific Championships squad following Penrith's grand-final win.

He played 26 of Penrith's 27 games this year, averaging 97 metres and a 96 per cent tackle efficiency, and has 106 NRL appearances.

Smith's selection is likely to edge NSW Origin forward Mitch Barnett out of the revised squad, despite Blues coach Laurie Daley preferring Barnett during State of Origin.
