"A top-notch acquisition": Johns puts a lid on Ilias potential position switch

Rugby League legend Andrew Johns has declared that Lachlan Ilias should steer clear of transitioning to dummy half in order to salvage his career.

According to reports from zerotackle.com, Ilias fell out of favor at the Rabbitohs towards the end of Jason Demetriou's tenure at the club, eventually being demoted to the NSW Cup before suffering a leg injury while playing in the reserve grade competition.

This injury halted his season, sparking rumors that Ilias may be on the move from South Sydney.

However, recent chatter has suggested that master coach Wayne Bennett, who is set to return to the Maroubra-based club for his second coaching stint, may consider utilizing Ilias as a hooker.

But, while speaking on Immortal Behaviour, Johns insisted that Ilias is a natural halfback and should not be shifted into the number nine role.
