
In a heartbreaking turn of events, South Sydney star Jai Arrow has made the difficult decision to retire from rugby league due to a significant medical condition.
The 30-year-old athlete revealed his retirement alongside South Sydney coach Wayne Bennett and Rabbitohs CEO Blake Solly, who were present to support him during this tough moment.
"Rabbitohs forward Jai Arrow has announced his immediate retirement from the NRL on medical grounds following a diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease (MND)," the South Sydney club stated in an official announcement.
"Arrow, Rabbitohs first grade player number 1166, recently received the diagnosis of MND having undergone months of testing and treatment."
Overcome with emotion and unable to speak at the press conference, Arrow expressed his gratitude for the kindness shown to him during this challenging phase through the club's statement.
"Thank you for the support I've received over what has been an incredibly difficult and uncertain period in my life," Arrow stated through the official announcement.
