Queensland's hopes of avoiding a women's State of Origin whitewash have taken a hit, with captain Tamika Upton among three players ruled out of the third game.
Star fullback Upton, along with winger Julia Robinson and front-rower Makenzie Weale, will not be available for next Thursday's matchup on the Gold Coast due to injuries sustained during Origin II.
In their place, uncapped players Destiny Mino-Sinapati and Lillian Yarrow have been added to Nathan Cross's squad for the last match of the 2026 series.
Mino-Sinapati, hailing from Gold Coast, faces the daunting challenge of filling in for the NRLW's top performer at fullback, while Brisbane's Yarrow is set to join from the bench.
Additionally, Shenae Ciesiolka has been promoted from a replacement role to take over Robinson's spot on the wing.
Maroons coach Cross stated, "We know the strength and quality that exists within this group and while it's been tough not to come away with the wins so far, the performances have shown exactly what this side is capable of."
He added, "It's also been really exciting to see some of the younger players and debutants come into the environment and handle the Origin arena so well."
Meanwhile, the Blues have retained the same 17 players who secured the series with a close 14-10 victory at Lang Park last Thursday.
Cronulla's Quincy Dodd will take the reserve number 18 jersey for Corban Baxter, who will wear number 19.
