'He's copping a rough trot': Shocking Jack Bird ankle injury shakes up NRL fans
Injuries are always a tough pill to swallow for NRL fans, especially when a star player with a history of bad luck takes another hit.
According to reports from news.com.au, the Canterbury Bulldogs put on a show of strength with a punishing 44-12 victory over the Dragons at Accor Stadium on Thursday night.
The Bulldogs have been showing glimpses of improvement in 2024, but their performance on the night was a game-changer - coming back from a 12-6 halftime deficit to score an impressive 38 unanswered points in the second half.
To add insult to injury for the Dragons, they were forced to play most of the match with two men down.
The Dragons suffered an early blow with Hame Sele sidelined due to a shoulder injury, and things went from bad to worse when Jack Bird had to be taken off the field on a medicab just before halftime.
As the Bulldogs put pressure on the left side defense with Bronson Xerri late in the first half, Bird attempted a tackle but grimaced in pain, ultimately crawling off the field in agony.
It's a tough setback for the Dragons, but as they say in the world of Rugby League, it's all part of the game.
