Jamayne Isaako, a prominent wing player for the Dolphins, has consistently credited his nightly sauna routine as key to his remarkable achievement of playing 96 consecutive matches in the NRL.
As he prepares to face the Warriors in a crucial qualifying final, Isaako aims to extend his streak to 99 games.
"To have played all 96 games in a row is something to be proud of and I would happily take 100," he indicated.
To reach the 100 mark, the Dolphins would need to lose to the Warriors and manage a grand final run, something Isaako is not overly concerned about yet.
His dedication to recovery is evident in his commitment to saunas, which started with frequent visits to recovery centers before he invested in his own sauna, thanks to sponsorship from Nordhaus.
"I do it every night and I swear by it. It plays a big part in keeping me on the field and my body healthy," he said.
Isaako's performance has contributed significantly to his team's hopes of securing their first title. Last season, he scored a career-high 288 points, marking the third time he led the league in scoring.
His rigorous training regimen leaves little room for practice, but he makes time to hone his goalkicking skills at Albany Creek Crushers.
As a 30-year-old veteran, Isaako reflects on the joy of scoring while leading the Dolphins' attack, grateful for the points that come with his roles.
Looking toward the future, Isaako aims to leave the Dolphins with a championship before moving to the Storm in 2027.
While expressing a desire to stay with the Dolphins, he acknowledged the changing circumstances, noting a strong personal connection to the club.
His partner's roots in Melbourne will ease his transition, providing vital support as he embarks on this new chapter.
