Boom NRLW rookie Chantay Kiria-Ratu, experienced back Kiana Takairangi, and powerful forward Kerehitina Matua have been announced as the headline players for the Cook Islands team participating in the Pacific Championships this year.

Kiria-Ratu, who played her first season in the NRLW with the Gold Coast Titans, showcased her skills on the global stage last year during the Rugby League World Cup while representing the Cook Islands.

The team, known as Cook Islands Vaine Moana squad, will see seven players making their international debuts at the upcoming tournament.

However, the presence of experienced players like Matua, Takairangi, and Sharks youngster Jazmon Tupou-Witchman will provide valuable guidance to the new additions in the squad.

The Cook Islands team is scheduled to compete in Week 2 of the tournament, where they will face off against Papua New Guinea.
