Manly Warringah Sea Eagles forward Dean Matterson has found himself in hot water after being charged with a Careless High Tackle in their recent clash against the Panthers at 4 Pines Park.
The incident occurred in the 41st minute when Matterson made contact with Liam Martin resulting in him being placed on report.
The subsequent Grade 1 charge has left Matterson facing a $1000 fine if he pleads guilty early.
However, due to his status as a development list player with the Sea Eagles, he has the option to either pay the fine or serve a one-match suspension instead.
This decision will ultimately rest on Matterson's shoulders.
