The St George Illawarra Dragons faced numerous injuries in 2025, ultimately finishing as the second most affected team in the NRL, trailing only the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Head coach Shane Flanagan is optimistic about a healthier season in 2026 and is preparing for the return of several key players in the first half of the year.
Emerging talent Dylan Egan and rugby convert Nathan Lawson both suffered injuries last season, which contributed to the Dragons' significant injury challenges.
Flanagan has disclosed the timelines for their recoveries, news that is likely to thrilled the Dragons' supporters.
"He did an ACL," Flanagan commented, referring to Egan's injury.
Additionally, he updated fans about Lawson, the 26-year-old athlete who previously excelled in rugby, noting that he will also sit out a few games in 2026.
"Nathan Lawson just had some screws removed from his foot," Flanagan revealed.
