Hubner's Hard Work Rewarded with New Contract

Lachlan Hubner, often considered one of the most underrated signings of the 2025 NRL season, has been recognized for his impressive performance this year with a new contract that will keep him with the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

According to zerotackle.com, Hubner's transformation over the past two years has been remarkable; he has evolved from a regular QLD Cup player to a consistent starter for the Rabbitohs.

Beginning his career in Rockhampton, Hubner played over 50 matches in the QLD Cup for the Central Queensland Capras before being picked up by The Dolphins.

Although he played only four matches for The Dolphins in the NRL and had limited playtime, his strong work ethic and determination captured the attention of club officials, especially coach Wayne Bennett.

This led to him being signed after Bennett took over as head coach at South Sydney.

At just 25 years old, Hubner has now secured a two-year contract extension with the Rabbitohs, ensuring his presence with the team until at least the conclusion of the 2028 NRL season.
