Former Wests Tigers player Luke Brooks praised the club's decision to part ways with Lachlan Galvin, calling it the "smart decision." He noted that the ongoing contract saga could have turned into a messy distraction for both Galvin and the Tigers.

Recent reports from au.news.yahoo.com confirm that Galvin has officially joined the Bulldogs until the end of the 2028 season.

Earlier this year, he informed the Tigers that he wouldn't consider re-signing beyond 2026.

This contract uncertainty led to Galvin being temporarily dropped to the NSW Cup before he returned to the NRL side.

Now, Galvin is poised to make his debut for the Bulldogs next Monday against the Eels, who were also interested in signing him.

Brooks, who spent 11 seasons at the Tigers, has firsthand experience of the pressures stemming from contract negotiations, having announced his departure from the club in 2023 to join Manly with a lucrative deal.

He expressed hope that both Galvin and the Tigers can swiftly move forward now that the situation is resolved.

As he stated, "I think the smart decision was made for them to part ways."
