Canberra Raiders Captain Jarrod Croker has announced that he will retire from the NRL at the end of the 2023 season.
Croker, who has played for the Raiders for 15 seasons and participated in over 300 matches, informed his teammates of his decision last week.
The 2009 debutant made a significant impact throughout his career, achieving various club and NRL milestones.
He currently holds the records for the Raiders in points scored (2358) and tries scored (135).
Croker's impressive achievements place him third on the all-time NRL point scorers list, just behind Cameron Smith and Hazem El Masri.
In addition to his records, Croker has won several prestigious awards, including the clubs player of the year (Meninga Medal), the Dally M Captain of the year, and the Provan-Summons medal.
He also captained the Raiders alongside Josh Hodgson during their Grand Final appearance in 2019.
Croker revealed that retirement has been on his mind recently, and he believes that the end of the current season is the right time to conclude his career.
