Frizell unfazed by Wests Tigers' finals drought

Wests Tigers sign Tyson Frizell for 2027

At 35, Tyson Frizell will begin his 17th NRL season when he joins the Wests Tigers in 2027.

The forward has signed a one-year deal after coach Benji Marshall approached him several times, Frizell revealed.

Frizell said the club wanted him to help guide its young forwards, but its 15-year finals drought did not worry him.

He sees no reason the Tigers cannot succeed quickly, pointing to Newcastle's rise from a wooden spoon to a grand final within 12 months.

"I'm pretty good at only worrying about what's going on in my life and my circle, and we know in rugby league how things can change quickly in 12 months," Frizell told this masthead.
