Fiji has revealed its expanded 40-man squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup, which kicks off next month.

Under the guidance of coach Mick Potter, the team includes numerous stars from the NRL, highlighting the sport's increasing popularity and strength, especially in the Pacific region.

Notable players in the formidable 'Bati' squad are Viliame Kikau, Apisai Koroisau, Jahream Bula, Sunia Turuva, Kurt Donoghoe, and the Fainu brothers: Latu, Samuela, and Sione.

Jacob Saifiti, a prop for Newcastle and the NSW Blues, has also been included but is unlikely to participate due to a four-match suspension he is currently serving.

Fiji will compete in Group A, opening their 2026 World Cup journey against the Cook Islands on Sunday, October 18, at McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle.

Their subsequent group games will see them facing Australia in Brisbane and New Zealand on the Gold Coast.

In the previous 2022 World Cup in England, Fiji was eliminated in the quarter-finals, losing 24-18 to New Zealand.
