Farnworth's Future Uncertain Amid Roosters Rumors

Herbie Farnworth, the Dolphins center, has consistently expressed his desire to remain with the team.

However, recent rumors have linked him to a possible move to the Sydney Roosters, sparking intrigue among fans and analysts alike.

Farnworth, recognized as one of the top centers in the sport, had a remarkable campaign in 2025 and has kicked off 2026 on a strong note.

Although he is contracted until the end of 2027, he could opt to negotiate with other clubs starting November 1 if he decides to enter the open market.

While there's currently no indication that a departure is imminent, Farnworth has previously considered such options before ultimately re-signing with the Dolphins.

Now, speculation suggests that the Roosters are keeping tabs on his situation.

"I was talking to a couple of people earlier this week and they said to me, 'Mate just keep an eye on Herbie Farnworth. There's a little bit of mail kicking around that the Roosters are just monitoring the situation with Herbie," journalist James Hooper stated on FanaticsTV's Rugby League Insider.

"Now Herbie's off-contract at the end of next season but that means he's a free agent as of November 1. If he isn't signed by them, then he can go to the open market," Hooper added.

"The theory is that the Roosters are very much having a look at Herbie because he's an English international and he has electric speed, strong defence, love his footwork and a tryscorer," he explained.

"They've signed DCE in the last 12 months. They've signed Reece Robson in the last 12 months," he noted further.

"They've had James Tedesco as the captain of the club for a number of seasons now and that's all part of the Herbie Farnworth management stable."
