Edward Kosi, one of the recent additions to the South Sydney Rabbitohs, expressed his enthusiasm for joining the team, stating that he is "pretty excited" about the new challenge ahead.
Signed in August on a two-year deal, Kosi made the switch to the Rabbitohs after struggling to secure a regular position with the New Zealand Warriors. Although he scored 19 tries in 36 games, he often found himself on the sidelines, especially with new players like Alofiana Khan-Periera joining the Warriors and Sio Kali making strides within the team.
This situation prompted Kosi to join the Rabbitohs, where he aims to compete for a place in the backline alongside established players such as Alex Johnston, Campbell Graham, and Isaiah Tass, until the end of 2027.
Ahead of the 2026 NRL season, Kosi reflected on his transition, mentioning that it was tough to part ways with his former teammates. However, he looks forward to the opportunity presented by the Rabbitohs, saying, "I've played all my footy here at the Warriors and I'm proud of that but got a new opportunity for me to come over here and play some footy here and under Wayne [Bennett]. I'm pretty excited."
He also highlighted the significance of his time with the Warriors, sharing, "I played a lot of my junior footy with these boys at the Warriors, so to win the NSW Cup final was probably the cherry on top."
