Eels Chief Executive Steps Down After Successful Tenure

Jim Sarantinos, the chief executive of the Parramatta Eels, has announced he will resign from his position at the conclusion of the 2026 season, wrapping up a decade of leadership.

During his tenure, the club has achieved significant commercial success and made strides on the field, including five finals appearances and a Grand Final in 2022.

Under Sarantinos' direction, the Eels have experienced a threefold increase in revenue, reached record membership levels, and established a top-tier center of excellence for players progressing through the Eels pathways up to the NRL.

He has also made substantial investments in both women's grassroots initiatives and the Eels Academy, aimed at nurturing the next generation of stars.

Reflecting on his time with the club, Sarantinos expressed his sentiments in an Eels statement.

"This Club has meant so much to me for so long, but I feel that the time is right," he stated.

"When I arrived in 2016, the Club was facing a difficult period in its proud history. There were many challenges ahead, but I held a deep belief that this Club could once again become the organisation its members, fans and community deserved."

"One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been seeing the culture that has taken shape across the Club. We have worked hard to create a place where people enjoy coming to work, look out for one another and build strong relationships. The sense of connection that exists today is something I hope continues to grow."
