The St.
George Illawarra Dragons are set to secure a long-term deal with talented twins Cornelius and Alexander Pupualii from the Penrith Panthers, who have garnered interest from multiple NRL clubs.
According to insiders at zerotackle.com, the 16-year-olds recently met with Dragons' coach Shane Flanagan, who was highly impressed by the duo.
Flanagan expressed his intentions to integrate Cornelius, a 6'3" centre weighing 100kg, into the Dragons' backline for the long term.
Cornelius has showcased his skills as a standout player for his Harold Matthews squad.
In contrast, Alexander, a powerful second-rower at 119kg, has faced challenges this season, having missed all junior matches due to an ACL injury.
Despite this setback, he remains a strong prospect who has progressed through the Panthers' ranks.
The twins attracted attention from several clubs, including the Canberra Raiders, South Sydney Rabbitohs, Wests Tigers, Cronulla Sharks, and North Queensland Cowboys.
Ultimately, they decided to join the Dragons, influenced by Flanagan's clear vision for their futures.
