Dragons' Liddle concern: Starting line or loss?

LeagueNews.co | Jess Malloy

The St George Illawarra Dragons may lose Jacob Liddle after the 2025 NRL season due to limited playing time and starting opportunities.

As reported by zerotackle.com, Liddle, who was a starter for most of 2024, has been moved to a bench role in 2025 following the signing of Damien Cook from the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Cook has taken on a significant role in games before Liddle comes on, with Cook typically playing lock when Liddle is in the game.

Liddle, now 28, has participated in 54 NRL matches with the Dragons since transferring from the Wests Tigers.

Although he has scored six tries in ten games this year, he has struggled with playing time, managing over 40 minutes in only three matches.
