Surprise positional switch sees Dragon shining as club climbs into NRL top eight
In a move reminiscent of a quarterback switching to wide receiver, a shock positional change has propelled the Dragons past the Dolphins and into the top eight of the NRL standings in Kogarah.
According to reports from news.com.au, the Dragons put on a dominant display in the second half to secure a convincing 26-6 victory over the Dolphins at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in Kogarah, on a day when Shane Flanagan celebrated his 200th game as an NRL coach.
The Dolphins suffered a double blow as star hooker Jeremy Marshall-King limped off the field in the first half with a foot injury, potentially facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
He was later spotted in the sheds sporting a moon boot on his right leg.
The Dragons started off slow in the first half, struggling to gain momentum and only managing to put up two points on the board.
But like a team rallying in the fourth quarter, they turned the game around in the second half, scoring five tries to shut out the Dolphins completely.
In a performance reminiscent of Rugby League legends of the past, the Red V showed grit and determination to secure a crucial win and climb up the ladder.
With this momentum, they are primed to make a push for the playoffs and continue their climb up the ranks in the NRL.
