"Dolphins CEO Terry Reader has hit back at The Daily Telegraph's Phil Rothfield over his criticism of club coach Wayne Bennett's focus on the end of the 2024 NRL season.

The Dolphins, who have had a rough trot lately with only 3 wins in their last 12 games, are facing a must-win Battle of Brisbane against the Brisbane Broncos this weekend to stay in the finals race.

Even if they manage to snag a victory and another one against the Newcastle Knights in the final round, they'll still need the St George Illawarra Dragons to stumble in their last two matches against the Parramatta Eels and Canberra Raiders to secure a spot in the finals.

Despite the challenges of injuries, Rothfield reckons Bennett can't be fully invested in the Dolphins after committing to the South Sydney Rabbitohs for 2025."
