Dolphins Player To Join Storm in 2027

The Melbourne Storm have reportedly secured the signature of Dolphins second-rower Oryn Keeley, effective from the beginning of the 2027 NRL season.

In 2025, Keeley experienced a notable breakout season, playing 16 games for the Dolphins despite significant injuries within the team, preventing them from fielding a fully fit forward pack.

His impressive skills have attracted the attention of the Melbourne Storm, and according to reports from News Corp, the 22-year-old has agreed to transition to their squad for the 2027 season.

With his contract ending in 2026, Keeley has been free to negotiate with other teams since November 1.

Although the Storm initiated discussions with the Dolphins to facilitate Keeley's immediate transfer, the Dolphins have so far rejected these proposals, as they view Keeley as a key component of their plans for the upcoming year.

With Tom Gilbert expected to return from injury, Keeley is likely to continue contributing off the bench, particularly in a rotation that includes Gilbert and ex-Cowboy Kulikefu Finefeuiaki, who joined the Dolphins in 2025.

The Storm's eagerness to add second-row talent on an immediate basis is evident.
