The Dolphins face a significant setback as they prepare for their match against the Canberra Raiders on Thursday night, as star outside back Herbie Farnworth has been ruled out.

Initially, Farnworth was named in the squad for the round 12 clash in the nation's capital on Tuesday afternoon.

According to 9 News Queensland, the English centre experienced hamstring tightness following the Magic Round.

As a result, he is undergoing a modified training program this week, with the club prioritizing his health.

This season, Farnworth has proven to be a formidable force, demonstrating impressive statistics.

Throughout ten games, he has scored five tries and averages 168 running metres, alongside 7.2 tackle breaks and 3.8 offloads per match, making him a challenging player to defend against.

Oryn Keeley has been designated to fill Farnworth's role in the starting lineup and will need to perform well against a Raiders team that will look to exploit his absence.

Keeley, who is set to join the Melbourne Storm, could potentially be replaced by either Brian Pouniu from the bench or specialist outside back LJ Nonu, who is currently on reserve.

Additionally, the Dolphins are missing other key players, including Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Selwyn Cobbo, Max Plath, and Thomas Flegler due to State of Origin commitments, along with injured player Kodi Nikorima.
