Contract talks could keep Dolphins outside back Jack Bostock at the club beyond 2027, with a deal reportedly possible before November 1.
Bostock is among several players whose contracts expire then, allowing him to test the market from that date. The Dragons, his junior club, and Sydney rivals have reportedly shown interest.
The representative player is preparing for next weekend's preliminary final and appears likely to join the Kangaroos squad later this year.
The Dolphins recently re-signed Selwyn Cobbo and Kulikefu Finefeuiaki, but say they can retain their other players approaching contract expiry.
Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow is reportedly seeking up to $1.4 million annually, fuelling suggestions someone may need to leave for salary-cap reasons.
Speaking to AAP, Bostock said, "I would like to stay here for sure," while stressing contracts could wait until after the finals.
"It would mean a lot to me and everyone else in the locker room here to win (a premiership)," Bostock said.
