Jack Bostock's rapid rise at the Dolphins has taken him from a development contract to an Origin jersey in only four seasons.
The 23-year-old debuted for NSW on the wing in this year's deciding win over Queensland in Brisbane.
He will face the Sydney Roosters in Friday night's preliminary final as one of the NRL's most improved players.
Bostock joined the Dolphins in 2023 after starring for the Illawarra Steelers in SG Ball and NSW's under-19s.
He became a top-30 player before the 2023 season opener against the Roosters, despite not featuring in that match.
Now a regular selection, Bostock is off contract from November 1, with AAP reporting that negotiations have reached an advanced stage.
The Dolphins have recently retained Brad Schneider, Kulikefu Finefeuiaki, Tevita Naufahu and Selwyn Cobbo.
Bostock was recruited after meeting foundation coach Wayne Bennett, former recruitment chief Peter O'Sullivan and his father, Josh, a former Balmain winger.
"I would like to stay here for sure," Bostock told AAP.
He said contract discussions would wait until after the finals, while describing a premiership as potentially "massive" for everyone involved in establishing the club.
Bostock returned this season from an ACL injury and shifted from wing to centre, quickly excelling in the new position.
"I always believed I could do it. I had a couple of goals I set for this season and Origin was one of them."
