In a fiercely contested Jersey Flegg Cup clash on Sunday, seaeagles.com.au reports that the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles fought valiantly against the Sydney Roosters, who are currently leading the competition.

Despite their efforts, the Sea Eagles ultimately fell short, losing 16-8 on a muddy track at Wentworth Park.

However, Manly showed great resilience, trailing by only six points at halftime with a scoreline of 10-4.

The Roosters dominated early on, taking a commanding 10-0 lead before the Sea Eagles managed to get on the scoreboard.

Winger Viliami Kuli exhibited his strength by grounding the ball in the corner amidst a three-man tackle, narrowing the gap to 10-4 after 28 minutes.

The Sea Eagles continued to fight back, and in the ninth minute of the second half, winger Tom Jarrett crossed the try line after a superb cut-out pass from half-back Tylor Bunting, bringing the score to 10-8.

However, the Roosters sealed their victory in the 63rd minute with a converted try by Tayson Fakaos.

Unfortunately for Manly, this loss marks their third defeat in the last four games, leaving them in 10th place and out of contention for the finals.
