Jason Demetriou has scored himself a new coaching gig for the 2025 season, taking the reins of the rugby league program at the prestigious Westfields Sports High School.
The former South Sydney Rabbitohs coach has been out of the game since he was given the boot in the middle of the 2024 season following a string of tough losses.
During his time with the Rabbitohs, Demetriou led the team to the grand final in 2021, where they unfortunately fell short against the Penrith Panthers.
The following year, the Bunnies made it to the finals, but in 2023, things took a turn for the worse as they stumbled out of the finals race in a series of unfortunate events.
By 2024, it seemed like history was repeating itself before Demetriou was shown the door.
The club later announced that Wayne Bennett would be making a comeback for a second stint starting in 2025.
But Demetriou isn't letting the setbacks keep him down.
He's bouncing back by taking on the role at Westfields Sports High School, where he'll be calling the shots for the next generation of league stars.
It's a new chapter for him in the sporting world, and fans are eager to see what he can bring to the school's program.
