Debut delight for Sullivan as Rabbitohs role secured

In exciting Rugby League news, the South Sydney Rabbitohs are looking to give Jayden Sullivan his club debut in Round 1 after securing his talents on loan from the Wests Tigers.

The move has been met with approval from new head coach Wayne Bennett, who has been impressed with Sullivan's skills during the pre-season.

It seems Sullivan will be taking on the pivotal role of five-eighth, especially with Cody Walker set to miss out due to injury.

Walker's calf injury has put a slight spanner in the works for the Rabbitohs, with his return not expected until Round 2 at the earliest.

This leaves Bennett in a bit of a pickle, needing to find a suitable replacement at five-eighth.

While former Canberra Raiders star Jack Wighton has played in that position before, the Rabbitohs are keen to keep him in the centres as much as possible.

As the season opener against the Dolphins approaches, all eyes will be on Sullivan to see if he can fill the shoes of the injured Walker.

With Bennett at the helm, the Rabbitohs will be hoping for a strong start to their campaign, with Sullivan and Wighton forming a formidable partnership in the halves.

It's sure to be an exciting season ahead for the Rabbitohs as they aim for success on the Rugby League field.
